Historic Structures of
Hobart, Indiana
Historic Homes
Photos by Tim Arends
Picturesque gable-front house, corner of 2nd and
East streets (c.1880). Other gable-fronts are at 711 and 769 E. Third
St. and 317 Center St. (Modified since photo taken)
Brick Victorian homes along Center Street.
A very unusual brick house. Almost like an
apartment building, this large home is double-occupancy.
A home of the stick style of architecture,
characterized by wood construction, angularity, and a roof composed of
steep intersecting gables. Large verandas or porches are a common
element of the stick style.
A handsome wood-frame corner house.
